At Preston Hire, we are proud to announce that our Glass handling system and services just turned 3 years old…… today!

has evolved from customer demand and our ongoing commitment to provide equipment for all specialised construction requirements.

To celebrate this milestone for our SuperGlassHandling units, allow us to share all that glass handling has accomplished throughout the years:

2020 marked the official establishment of the SuperGlassHandling Units that were introduced and chosen for our Preston Hire customers. The Oktopus brand of glass lifting rigs, units and accessories was selected to fulfil the glazing requirements for specialised construction and was the perfect pairing for our SuperCrane machines.

Throughout 2020 & 2021, the GlassHandling Units established themselves in the Preston Hire market for an array of different tasks. Ranging from commercial to residential needs, these glass handling units have no limits to projects that were completed. Throughout the years, we have been lucky enough to witness high demand in the utilisation of both the cranes and glass handling units as a pair. These machines offer a service that is not available elsewhere, due to the specification our cranes provide.

In 2022, the introduction of learning materials for the induction and educational purposes was created to help familiarise users on how to check specifications and how to operate these units. The materials included an operation manual, tutorial videos and pre-hire/de-hire checklist documents, that was available in each and every unit through QR Codes. These videos break down components of the machines to introduce a step-by-step tutorial on how to use the machines while ensuring safety to all. These tutorials were a great way to reach our customers while providing a friendly and easy to follow video that recognised the importance of demonstrating tangible information and instructions. Videos often or not are easier to understand then going through a whole manual that could take hours.

To mark these learning materials, our glass handling units were featured on the July 2022 edition of Cranes and Lifting.

The three years of operation of our glass handling units have witness the new heights we can achieve with these machines. We are excited and proud to say it can only go up from here!
