Preston Hire has a proud and dynamic history demonstrating our desire to continually evolve and ensure innovation is at the core of what we do. Originally founded in 1969, Preston was a small mobile crane and scaffolding equipment hire business owned and managed by the Preston family. 50 years on, Preston Hire offers a national, multi-branch network across Australia with an impressive fleet of specialised hire equipment.
With a commitment to innovate and a desire to provide the market with new products that would deliver safety and efficiencies, the 1990s saw Preston Hire reinvigorate and completely transform the construction industry with the invention of the SuperDeck® Retractable Loading Platform system. Recognising that loading platforms could be the key to increased productivity and safety on building sites, the SuperDeck® Retractable Loading Platform system was designed to be stacked vertically and rolled in and out as required, as opposed to traditional fixed or static platforms that must be staggered throughout the building. This approach simplifies material handling by allowing cranes uninhibited access to the platforms above or below. The SuperDeck was a game changer, both in Australia and globally, making the Preston Hire name synonymous with the construction industry.
With an established reputation for exceptional service and understanding customer needs, the team at Preston Hire recognised the demand from customers to provide more specialised equipment across a diverse range of categories. Over the years, the Preston Hire fleet has continued to gain momentum in size, scope and capabilities.
To complement and enhance the SuperDeck product, Preston Hire turned its attention to expanding its crane fleet in 2007/08 with state-of-the-art models selected to create minimum impact on work environments whilst offering maximum impact in terms of lifting capacity. Introduction of the SuperCrane™ range focused on mini cranes with capacity ranges from two to five tonne, over the years the range has increased significantly with a healthy split of biggerr cranes with capacities up to 15t and larger hydraulic crawler cranes ranging from 15t to 100t. This expansion of over 100 machines has allowed Preston Hire to service more customers with a broader variety of needs.
